What you're talking about here is different than what I had previously thought. I thought you were talking about the HTML 5 cache manifest referenced in the <html> element.
It seems to me that the desktop Safari version should have a delete function as easy as the one on the iPhone.
Have you enabled the "Develop" menu under Safari and looked under the "Databases" icon in the debugger?
