I asked this question back in March and it was taken over answering other issues.  Does somebody know if it is possible?

Right now I don't have a single box running x86_64 with the needed development tools (All are dedicated production boxes).  But I can't easily convince anybody to allow a install of the development stuff on one unless we know it works then only for a very short period of time to do the build.

Thanks.

Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] X86_64 support?

New to the list but searched for x86_64 and found only one issue from over a year ago.

I just attempted to build the ipmitools on Fedora core 4, using 2.6.14-1.1653_FC4smp.  When I do I get a lot of warnings.  and once it is build it does not work properly.

hardware is Dell 2850, using Dell's dkms package implementation of the ipmi interface that was build on this box.  The ipmi drivers have loaded without issue (barring the required options line in the modules.conf file).

But when I attempt to do: ipmi -I open lan print 1
Get Channel Info command failed
Channel 1 is not a LAN channel!

This works fine for all boxes we have running in 32 bit mode.

Any ideas from anybody?
