The two system have entirely different IPMI BMCs on the board.
They each have their own IPMI firmware on the BMC.
Also, the FRU & SDR records applied would vary by vendor.
You can see the BMC vendor & product IDs from GetDeviceID ('ipmitool mc
info' or 'ipmiutil health').

We have a Supermicro X7DBE motherboard as well as an
Intel S5000PSL motherboard. Both use the same chipset
(Intel Blackford).
When I query the BMC using the ipmitool-1.8.9, the
Supermicro mother board does not show memory sensors
but the Intel board does.
I am trying to understand the technical reason for
this. Is access to memory and processor sensors not a
direct function of the Chipset? Is the Supermicro
lacking something in its motherboard that is
preventing ipmitool to access memory sensors?
