Hi, I'm using ipmitool on IBM x3455 machines. It works well, until I send to BMC the command 'bmc reset cold'. After that, BMC loose the lan channel as 'ipmitool lan print' and ' ipmitool lan print 1' say:
# ipmitool lan print Invalid channel: 255 # ipmitool lan print 1 Channel 1 is not a LAN channel I've done all kind of reset but BMC still doesn't see the lan channel. I've done cold reset on three machines and all have lost the lan channel. Another problems is that on these IBM x3455 I have 3 NIC, 2 onboard and one PCIe. On some machines IPMI traffic goes through the second onboard NIC, on some other on the PCIe NIC and in few cases it goes through one of the onboard NIC with the MAC address on the PCIe. Someone can explain me what does the command 'bmc reset cold' really do and how can resume IPMI operation on the BMC resetted? Massimo. -- ____ ____ ____ _ _ / ___)| __ \/ ___)/ /| | Dott.
