'morning folks. I was trying ipmitool 1.8.11 with the Dell PowerEdge R200 and I can say it works quite nicely, both locally and over lan.
The next logic step was to try serial over lan. I've tried both ipmitool isol and the dell redirector software (dsm_bmu_solproxy32d). Everything I get are some garbled characters in the middle of correct ones, like this: D GDeux 5.0 ele bieD DebiatD/LtD/Lt iaeDux D GDu0D5. nielettra login 5.0y inx bielD leile ne /ineNa inyre D 5D 5.lleiD This means that ipmitool behaves in the same way of the Dell's software, which might be good :) Any suggestion? I've configred the bios as described here: http://www.virtlab.biz/hardware/67 and tried other combinations as well thanks in advance -- Best regards, Alessandro Zummo, Tower Technologies - Torino, Italy http://www.towertech.it ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apps built with the Adobe(R) Flex(R) framework and Flex Builder(TM) are powering Web 2.0 with engaging, cross-platform capabilities.
