Hi everybody, I work for a medium sized hosting company with about 300 systems. For some weeks now we are getting loads of IPMI Errors from our management net. We're talking about 64 errors on the first day alone. Recurring errors are for example:
Unrecognized response from ipmitool: *** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/ipmitool: free(): invalid next size (normal): 0x0000000000610500 *** Unrecognized response from ipmitool: Get SDR c001 command failed: Cannot return number of requested data bytes Unrecognized response from ipmitool: FM4/F0/TACH Unrecognized response from ipmitool: FM4/F0/TACH Unrecognized response from ipmitool: BL6/STATE Unrecognized response from ipmitool: *** buffer overflow detected ***: /usr/bin/ipmitool terminated Unrecognized response from ipmitool: ipmitool: lanplus.c:2143: ipmi_lanplus_send_payload: Assertion session-v2_data.session_state == LANPLUS_STATE_OPEN_SESSION_RECEIEVED failed. Unrecognized response from ipmitool: Get SDR c002 command failed: Cannot return number of requested data bytes Unrecognized response from ipmitool: DBP/HDD4/PRSNT Unrecognized response from ipmitool: Get SDR c01c command failed: Cannot return number of requested data bytes Unrecognized response from ipmitool: FM3/ERR I have no idea what could have triggered this behaviour and it didn't get better. We're having this problem for over 2 weeks now and can't find any misconfigured unit or loops in our net. Did anyone experience similar behaviour before and could help us out with some hints what we could check / look out for?
