You're right but, as you mentionned, it's not a single operation. I still think
that it would be useful to get the outgoing interface MTU with a single
operation not only for the particular case of tracemtu (I admit that create a
new option just for a particular case is a bad idea) because UDP/Raw
applications eventually need to know outgoing interface MTU when they have
disabled fragmentation.
