That's because you misread it I think.   I didn't say that there were no
arguments in favour of (c), but that I would treat Alex's message as conceding
that there are none.   That doesn't mean that you have to agree with him.
Personally, I have no idea, I'm not picking any of them.  Abstain.

The "I actually treat" was because Alex's argument amounted to "you have to
pick (c) because you're required to support other standards, and diffserv is
one of them".   That's the "because I said so" line of reasoning, which is
generally used (between peers) only when there is no other reasonable
argument available to be made.
