I am in favor of delegating -only- the space needed.
I am more concerned with a hard boundary being set,
perpetuating the fiction that the address identifies
the node, not where it is in the topology. Mixing
these two properties has been a problem for some time.
IPv6 was a chance to divorce the two. I am afraid that
this is a lost opportunity.
