 - if your destination is site local, your source address is
   site-local,

 - if your destination is global, your source is global,

sorry, I misspoke.

the problems I have heard people yelling about are endemic to having multiple addresses of different scopes available, and "source address selection" is just one aspect of picking the "right" source/destination pair.
