Uselessly slow is a local decision. If that is the case for your network, then by all means, don't use these addresses. For others, speed is less of a concern than other attributes. Please stop trying to force a single operational model on everyone. We need to provide tools that meet the requirements, not keep claiming the requirements are invalid.

I am trying to lower my ranking so I only respond to select messages now :-) This
one qualifies.

The problem with your argument "use of local addresses is a local decision and is
does not affect anyone but you" is false. Address leakages will occur and in more
ways that you realise - stack and dns are *not* the only was an address can and *will*
travel.
