That depends on what the value in the registry HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\Messenger
Server\Settings\Client Update TimeStamp
If the value is NOT 0 then it will work and your users will be prompted to download
the new version.
If it is 0 then it is possible.
A few days before you make the upgrade perform these steps
As long as every one logs in After you perform these steps and Before you make
the upgrade when you hit the Force Client Update it will work
1 Close the IIM Server Manager
Go in the registry and modify the key listed above to 1
Reopen the server manager and restart the service
After a day or so (after all your clients have reconnected) you can run the update and
the Force Update will work [ And will continue to work when needed ]

I've tried that. It found the path and tried to install.
I ended up having to uninstall 1.01 before 1.02 would work.
