I would say every station should have a generator, would be a nice idea, wouldn't it?
But some small stations just can't afford them. A generator big enough to power an entire building, transmitter.. studio and all would be one huge lump sum payment that a lot of small stations can't justify. How do they not justify it? They hardly ever go off the air, and when they do.. it's only for a few minutes at a time. Sure, you'd say any dead/off air time is lost revenue.
