Pat,

I heard Midway-920 on several Monday mornings in Sep & Oct 1968. Received a
nice letter QSL as well. As I recall the only QRM was from KARK in Little Rock
and then later KBZB in Odessa TX
when they signed on around 3 a.m. PST.

I've never heard KOLD Thule from California altho I had a nice carrier on the
frequency in 1977 a time or two. However, I received them nightly when I was
dxing from Keflavik Iceland in 1955.
I always enjoyed listening to them as well as the AFRTS station in Morocco on
1590 (WIND-Nouasseur-excuse spelling). Then there were quite a few AFN
stations from Germany that broadcast in
english.
I wonder if the Keflavik station TFK 1484 is still broadcasting. AFRTS station?

I didn't hear near as many pacific stations as you did. Heard the Gilbert &
Ellis Island station on 844...Later became Tuvalu I think..This in 1976-77 and
also heard them here in the last year
or so. Think they are on 846 nowdays. Heard ZCO Tonga on 1020 in the late
sixties and most every Hawaiian. Only heard 2 Aussies & 2 Zedders though. And
the Phillipine station on 1555 and
again on 1550..DYLA..
Tried for a lot of them but no luck. Good memories!

Don
