When I was in high school in the mid-1980s, I often used to pick up several "top end" cordless phones from around my neighborhood. It took a lot of listening to figure out whose they were. One of the biggest surprises was realizing that a guy about three blocks away who called those 976 sex numbers frequently was a teacher.
