I take a Sony ICF-7600 in carry-on luggage all the time without problems, except once, and was told to take the batteries out next time. 73.

I am planning on taking my E1 with me to Hawaii -

How is America and the TSA about radios like this?

I popped into Canada Customs to register my cameras
and my ZOOM H4 MP3 recorder - the office behind the
counter grinned (and recognized it as an MP3 immediately...)
and offered: "Your recorder looks a lot like a taser.... heh-heh, heh-heh"
