As almost everyone probably knows, I am anything but a domestic AM DXer. Several days ago Paul Walker made a request for anyone hearing several stations. Since one was 100 miles away I figured it would be an easy listen, just tune there and have at it. How wrong I was! Not being previously remotely knowledgable about signals on 1400, I have become much better acquainted the past 3 days and I admit it's been interesting and even enjoyable. And I have only heard 1400 KJDY once so far, a brief fadeup with mentions of John Day (Oregon). The farthest has been KEYL, MN "Real Country" which faded up briefly this morning. Others have been KQMS, CA; KRPL, ID; KSPT/KBFI, ID; KBCK, MT; KQDJ, ND; KBCH, OR; KLCK, WA/OR; KEDO, WA; KODI, WY. A SS station has been heard several times but no chance for an ID. It's interesting that the best time is early morning for several hours. So far I haven't pulled any audio out of the continuous jumble of stations mixing together at night.
