I recently discovered that I had two older ethernet adapters in line for my home network, the power supplies for which over the past year or so have apparently 'gone south' in terms of the noise they produce. Both are switching supplies, both 10+ years old and in continuous use, so that is to be expected. I'd had them so long that I didn't focus on the fact that they'd do this at some point.
Goes to show that you never know what's going to cause trouble. 2 years ago it was a relay on the old now-replaced furnace. Before that it was the detectors for the automatic garage doors. All of this is without any appliances, etc. using the "internet of things", which I simply won't have unless there's no escape.
