As a staff member of said institution, I can tell you that communication between certain areas is not at its best. As well as informing the Gardai (do this ASAP), the AUC and the sports office (don't assume the sports "centre" will tell the office), you should really go after Buildings, the safety office and services as well. It affects them and they could be partly liable also. If someone ran away with the big hoity toity light show they have up in a public space at the mo do you think they would shrug their shoulders?
