Another club might have moved it to gain access to something else i dunno... if it was lying around hap-hazardly then some junior manager might have told the groundskeeper to dump it. Talk to Suzanne Bailey in the Sports Office. Explain in detail what you know, whats possibel given the size and weight of it, and ask for some investigation.
