----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: DexterSin Message 1 in Discussion As I was flicking through the IAFF's report and financial statements for 2003, I noticed that Siobhan Byrne - who is apparently an international-class female sabreur - receives about 30,000 euros a year from the Federation! I'm sure that she deserves the money, but wouldn't 30 grand pay for many aluminium pistes, not to mention the number of promising fencers that could be equipped and sent to competitions abroad? How are these things decided (i.e. how does everyone else get some of the spondulix?)? I am not criticising the Federation or anyone else, as I know nothing about Siobhan Byrne or how she was selected for this grant, but could the money be spread around a little more evenly? The report and financial statements are available on the IAFF's website, for anyone who's interested. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
