Hello, My name is Matthew Ward and I am now the Product Manager for SiteProtector. It is not normally my practice to spam issforum with product information, but I thought that since folks keep mentioning this thread to me, I ought to give you guys a little information so that you can make the best possible decision as you decide what to build in the interim. Here is what SiteProtector is going to have in SiteProtector 2.0, due out in Q4: 1) Graphical reports that display metrics of security information across products for management (Attacks, vulnerabilities and Attacked vulnerabilities if you have fusion) 2) Graphical reports that display the trends across SiteProtector groups, again, geared for management 3) Detail analysis reports ranging from more summary information to the nitty gritty parameters of the events and vulnerabilities. 4) All of the views from FastAnalysis, plus similar views for vulnerability analysis. When we start importing 3rd party data, that data will be analyzed in a similar fashion. 5) Right click navigations in a FastAnalysis-like fashion to guide the user through security analysis. 6) All of the text and graphical views can be exported to HTML, PDF, CSV and Printer, and you can do so either on demand or on a schedule. 7) Lastly, we will have cross-site reporting, so you can perform reporting across multiple sites. So, in deciding what to build yourself, bear the above in mind as to how far you go. I personally know that you can build a few, very effective reports in a short period of time to get the maximum value with the minimum work, and you may want to avoid reports that are more complicated that you may be able to live without for the remaining period of time... I have presented the reports to many customers and have come to the conclusion that reporting will be at least satisfactory in SiteProtector 2.0, so hopefully that will alleviate your concerns and difficulties with ISS reporting in general. I also have been told that this capability will be in the next release. I believe in the interim that there is a tool that can help facilitate reporting in SiteProtector and that it resides on the ISS ftp site, but if you ftp://www.iss.net, nothings there, well at least not for an anonymous login. Well maybe not kill, but you get the point!!! This is just one of the sorely missed features that should have been released in SiteProtector from the start. I keep hearing it will be in the next release, whenever that is. -----Original Message----- From: Simon Desmeules [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 2:51 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Site Protector Reporting TO UNSUBSCRIBE: email "unsubscribe issforum" in the body of your message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] for help with any problems! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, Site Protector doesn't come along with the reporting function and wanted to know if anybody has developed a custom Crystal Report (.rpt) file to work with the Site Protector RealSecureDB. If for example I took a report policy from the workgroup 6.6 manager and imported it into Crystal Reports, is there a way to change all the database values to point to the new RealSecureDB? best regards, Simon.
