Hi,

Under tools/options you'll find two check boxes - 'scan if ping fails' and
'always run exploits'. One or both should do the job for you (the help
describes the effect of each).

I find that by using tools such as nmap to perform icmp sweeps and tcp port
pings (e.g. to common services - web, mail, ssh etc.) you can build up a
fairly accurate list of live hosts behind filtering devices. You can then
feed that to IS and force it to scan, regardless of its assessment of
whether the host is live.

Subject: [ISSForum] Internet Scanner

Hello,
Can i configure Internet Scanner to scan a host that does not reply to ping.
In Internet Scanner Policies there is the Host Pinger option. it uses this
option to ping the host. if the host is alive it starts the scan.
can i bypass that and start the scan?

Regards,
/W.N
