Hello Chin,

RealSecure has a capability to have a partner Event
Collector. A partner Event Collector act as a backup
to the master Event Collector. A partner receives the
same event information as the master. ISS recommends
that you install the partner and the master Event
Collectors on separate machines.

It is assumed that before doing this procedure, the
console can both manage the master Event Collector and
the partner Event Collector. To do this, in your
managed asset window, right click on the event
collector and select properties. On the general tab,
activate the Partner Event Collector option.

Furthermore, to automate the start and stop of a
partner Event Collector, ISS developed an UNSUPPORTED
utility named "Event Collector Keep Alive" (ECKA).
This utility automatically start the partner Event
Collector when ECKA found out that the master Event
Collector is down.

The ECKA utility is available at
http://www.iss.net/support/product_utilities/realsecure_tech_center/utilities/index.php

If the RS Console and the Databse are located in one
machine and you rebooth the console machine this means
the you also rebooth the database the result of it
connection of DB to EC was lost it is recoommended to
restart the EC to refresh the connection when DB is
up.

hope this helps

It is better also if you asked the ISS Support guys to
assists you.
