It is possible that your SQL server is not in either SQL authentication mode or Mixed 
mode, but rather is in Windows Authentication mode.

Check your registry to see if the 
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\LoginMode" value is set 
properly.  To determine this see the following article:

I have problems with installation of the my Site Protector Database. When I put the 
credencials of the SQL Server I receive an autentication error.(log attach).

  
1- The password of "sa" user is correct ! 
2- There is connectivity ! 
3- They are in a same subnet !
