The procedure described below will no longer work for IS7.0 since you must have encryption keys generated for the ID that you are running scanner under and these keys are created and placed in the appropriate directories on the console and sensor at the time of installation. Other keys can be generated using the utility in the tools directory, but the other use must logon to use the utility. Then the keys must be put in the appropriate RSA directories.

You can also right-click the icon and select "RUNAS" and then login as administrator to run it. I think I may have had to set the ACLs on some of the files to make this work, I don't remember. When I start up this way, I get some warning messages about the security on the database files not being right. I dismiss the messages and tell the program NOT to reset the security. I do this from a computer that I use to scan from infrequently. The main scanner runs under a renamed administrator account fine. Note that this is on version 6.x. I haven't upgraded to 7 yet until I hear more feedback. :) > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > >> Hi Folks, >> >> I found in the ISS Scanner documentation that we have to use >> administrator account in order to be able to scan a node.
