SiteProtector can very definitely be used to deploy and support Desktop Protectors.
In fact that is usually what we recommend. The Desktop Controller that you mention
runs as a component of SiteProtector. It is basically the ICEcap Manager without it's
own UI. You use the SiteProtector UI to manage everything.

In terms of deployment you do it pretty much the same way to did with ICEcap Manager.
You set up your Policy, then you run the agent build. In SiteProtector this creates
both the build .exe and it creates a link on a Web page. Users browse to the Web
page, click on the link, and the Desktop Protector installs on their box.

Hope this helps,

Bob

Subject: [ISSForum] Desktop Protector

Question here,

Can the Site Protector be used for remote deployments of Desktop Protector
?.
>From what I read here, it say ICEcap mgr only...

Correct me if I am wrong, but, there is such a thing as Desktop Controller
module in the Site protector. It is also called the ICEcap manager in Site
protector. I assume this is the one but...

ICEcap has a price on it... and Desktop Controller is FOC... any other
things I need to get/buy to be able to this ?

Comments...

Cheers
GaneshC
