Site Protector 2.0 can manage and create Desktop builds (executable
packages with a fully configured agent). SP cannot do remote
installations (pushes). ICEcap had this capability. Under the right
conditions, the ICEcap remote install was quite effective.

ICEcap, to my knowledge, is free if you buy desktop. Just use the
license key you got with your desktops. It should work to install ICEcap
as well. ISS is phasing out ICEcap anyway, so I don't know why they
would care if you used it.

And yes, in SP2.0 there is a Desktop Controller. Its actually like a
minature ICEcap running inside SP. It gathers desktop events and sends
them to an event collector.

Subject: [ISSForum] Desktop Protector

Question here,

Can the Site Protector be used for remote deployments of Desktop
Protector ?. From what I read here, it say ICEcap mgr only...

Correct me if I am wrong, but, there is such a thing as Desktop
Controller module in the Site protector. It is also called the ICEcap
manager in Site protector. I assume this is the one but...

ICEcap has a price on it... and Desktop Controller is FOC... any other
things I need to get/buy to be able to this ?

Comments...

Cheers
GaneshC
