Well, seems I misunderstood you. No problem. I know that both gcc and aCC by
default produce 32-bit on HP-UX, but like said I choose 64-bit to unify the CPU
detection between linux and HP-UX. On linux --build=ia64-pc-os would produce
64-bit binaries while on HP-UX that would be 32-bit. So the complexity of
configure script doubles. If you have an itch you can came up with something
better. As long I can tell configure to produce 32 or 64 bit depending on the
CC environment variable for -mlp64/-milp32 and +DD64/+DD32 I'm OK with any
solution being default.
