[~dpolivy] could it be that it is being fired in the webview but the event is
happening before you subscribe in your app because the scripts for your app are
being loaded remotely as well? We have no API currently for retrieving old
events or saving them in the JS to wait for subscribers as far as I know. It's
an interesting use case. Do you get {{deviceready}}?
