## What and why Create Client now shows “Not set” for an empty Date of Birth and lets a selected date be cleared. Clearing after a failed save also removes the stale date from the retry payload. The page help describes the create wizard. Closes #747. The name-input validation associations reported there already work on main. Clearing an existing record's DOB is outside this change. ## Verification - Application unit suite: 314 files / 2595 tests passed in each of UTC and America/New_York; 2 microfrontend tests passed. - 4 mocked browser tests passed without retries at desktop 1280px and phone 390px: unset/dismissed dates, explicit selection, clear after a rejected save, exact submitted date, help text and revisit. - Production build, lint/format, translation/icon/a11y/template/UI checks, E2E types, API surface, license and GA checks passed. GA has no blocking or undetermined gates; existing adapter advisory remains. - No live-backend validation. Existing duplicate-import lint warnings and header style-budget warning remain. ## Screenshots The added mocked spec saves desktop/phone `empty-dob.png`, `selected-dob.png` and video in Playwright's output directory. These were inspected locally; no production or customer data is used. ## AI assistance (optional) - Codex assisted with implementation and synthetic Vitest/Playwright verification. ## Checklist - [x] I did not hand-edit generated files under `src/app/api/`. - [x] New code follows the app-owned UI/adapter boundaries. - [x] User-facing strings use translation keys. - [x] Regression tests cover the change. - [x] Suitable mocked e2e coverage is included; real-backend testing is not needed for this display/optional-field fix. - [x] Commits are signed. - [x] I followed the AI-assisted contributions guidance. - [x] This is a bug fix, so no feature/design proposal is introduced. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
