That's a good point. It might inadvertently break things.
For the release candidate, how about including just the first part, i.e.,
just the detached mode for standalone clusters. That would not break any
functionality, and bring the yarn and standalone mode at par as far as detached
mode is concerned. It will definitely stay broken for both in case of eager
jobs.
