I would suggest we proceed with the review as follows: Let's focus on things that are needed for correctness and robustness for the scenarios we currently want to use the Coordinator for. Those are mainly sources and the "collect()" calls. Having a robust and maintainable solution for those is what we need for 1.13.0 and for the 1.2.x backport. I think the current solution in the PR can deliver that. Discussions about how to extend or change the API for other possible use cases in the future, I would like to do at the point when we reach those use cases.
