Vishal Surana commented on FLINK-13414:
---------------------------------------

For those who don't mind breaking backward compatibility, why not create a
package for Scala 2.13? If we don't want to use flink-adt given how young it
is, we will be able to use the implicit createTypeInformation with Scala 2.13
and Flink 1.15. We have flink jobs in Scala  2.12 and I would like to use
latest Scala and breaking backward compatibility is not an issue as long as the
features work.

Is it correct to say that if we don't use flink-adt, then we cannot use newer
Scala versions despite the decoupling?
