[[email protected]] The behavior between trunk and 0.94 is the same. The 
shell and REST APIS are using the KV module for parsing the columns 
(columnfamily:qualifier) . Thats the reason for touching the KV module. If you 
think this change is intrusive, I can add a utility method in KeyValue class to 
care of the case of empty qualifier, which can be used only by the hbase shell 
and REST.
