Sean Busbey commented on HBASE-13339:
-------------------------------------
I have a solution for HBASE-13221 that is at 80% that doesn't require any
Hadoop update. I need to get some pref numbers to make sure it's fine. If it
turns out my intuition about the JIT is wrong, then the solution is going to
require Hadoop 2.7.0 if HDFS encryption is on. But docs + a pointer for
mitigation will just mean pre-2.7.0 Hadoops work only without HDFS encryption
(and those users can use HBase's encryption instead).

> Current default Hadoop version is getting a little long in the tooth. We
> should update to the latest version. The latest version is backwards
> compatible with 2.5.1's dfs and mr so this should be painless.
