I thought there were plans to have a 2.6.1 release? (see "Planning Hadoop 2.6.1
release" on common-dev@hadoop from Apr - Jun 2015).
I believe [~ndimiduk] is supposed to be filing a ticket about starting to
address the 2.7.z line. That's going to be contentious because of the
non-production label for 2.7.0. I'd personally have an easier time voting in
favor of adding better 2.7.z support if there were a Hadoop 2.6.1 release that
included HADOOP-11674 and HADOOP-11710.
