There is no further progress towards 2.6.1 since the brief discussion in April.
This came up at the HDFS BoF at the Hadoop Summit and the informal consensus
was to stabilize 2.7.x. But like I said if there is an RM willing to drive
2.6.1 I don't see any grounds for vetoing the release either and no I am not
volunteering. :-)
