Summary doc needs an author, date, and a link back here. It is a 'summary of
work' for what time frame? This is phase2 of backup/restore for hbase2 release?
Suggest you add to do doc. If it was google doc and we had edit perms, we
could help clean up minor items. Write up is nice. Would do good as a release
note here. Need to qualify this "... is already usable." What do you mean by
useable? Any holes or gotchas that a user needs to look out for or
inadequacies? Could list these to help users not have their expectations set
incorrectly.
For example, phase 3 includes 'HBASE-14417 Incremental backup and bulk
loading', which seems to say no incremental in phase 2. Might want to note that.
I think the remaining items could do with more description. When I see
"HBASE-17517 Backup client API", it implies no client api in phase 2.... which
is fine imagine I am a user reading this doc. I would have to infer that... it
is not stated. They'd also have to presume phase 2 backup is shell driven (they
might not know that).
On 'HBASE-16557 UI for backup / restore', could say that in phase 2 you have to
rely on querying w/ command line to find state of backups...
Whats this mean 'All the JIRAs currently in open state will be implemented by
2.0 release time.'?
