bq. without a quantified perf benefit I'd rather leave this out of 1.2.z
releases, unless someone particularly wants to do the work.
The benefit can be see in here [1], [2]. peak of p999 latency drop from
~200ms to 100ms, we can say this patch will provide a more stable latency.
so, I always think we should port this patch to all branches, we also ported
this patch to our 0.98 branch (smile).
