In the case of using SecureRpcEngine, the clients also need to be configured to 
use SecureRpcEngine.  Clients using the default WritableRpcEngine would not be 
able to connect.

I just wanted to point out you can use SecureRpcEngine without kerberos auth to 
make use of the same existing user-level logging without any code changes (if I 
understand correctly what you're after).
