That question belongs to a different JIRA issue, maybe titled "Deprecate
collection-level config API", which is linked to/blocked by this issue. Of
course, I don't support that idea, so I won't open such a new JIRA. But it
would be far more constructive use of [~apoorvprecisely]'s time to absolutely
ignore whatever we've been discussing regarding an orthogonal issue.
