You're right, @nielsbasjes. My example ignored that Maven replaces the original repository with its mirror. It doesn't demonstrate a problem with your fix, and I'm withdrawing the precedence suggestion. Sorry for adding confusion. @slachiewicz, I also overstepped by repeatedly posting explanations and offering extra work on someone else's PR. Thanks for calling that out.
