Mark Struberg commented on MCLEAN-49:
-------------------------------------
I don't really get the benefit. What is the use case where you would need such
a behaviour?
The idea behind dropping the directory is to be certain that you start on a
defined base line.
> Preserve build directory after cleaning

> Key: MCLEAN-49
> URL: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MCLEAN-49
> Project: Maven 2.x Clean Plugin
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Affects Versions: 2.4.1
> Reporter: Björn Michael
> Priority: Minor
>
> I feel the need to preserve e.g. project.build.directory folder after
> deleting all files and folders within this folder by clean:clean.
> Currently these default output folders are deleted entirely instead of beeing
> cleared.
> This could be configured by configuration section in pom or by a property.
> Thanks in advance.
