Björn Michael commented on MCLEAN-49:
-------------------------------------
E.g. I use maven in conjunction with eclipse. The target folder is set derived
in eclipse manually. Every time I launched mvn clean eclipse recognizes that
the folder was deleted and derived flag is unset again.
Similar occurrences could happen with other third-party tools which validate a
certain folder structure.
> Preserve build directory after cleaning

> Project: Maven 2.x Clean Plugin
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Affects Versions: 2.4.1
> Reporter: Björn Michael
> Priority: Minor
>
> I feel the need to preserve e.g. project.build.directory folder after
> deleting all files and folders within this folder by clean:clean.
> Currently these default output folders are deleted entirely instead of beeing
> cleared.
> This could be configured by configuration section in pom or by a property.
> Thanks in advance.
