See if you can sign a document with the certificate that FireFox presented. The certificate (and sometimes too many others) should be displayed in the signature-choice dialog of the File > Document Signatures menu selection. The built-in Help seems to be better although it doesn't go into the procedure for obtaining and installing a certificate other than a small hand-wave. This page is also reasonable: <https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/How_to_use_digital_Signatures>.
