I was playing around with MOZILLA_CERTIFICATE_FOLDER and NSS_DEFAULT_DB_TYPE, but I've got both of those unset now. When I first try to sign the document, it gets signed, and the popup window that displays the signatures says that that the certificate can't be validated. No crash now, though.
