The metrics DB doing the scraping will keep a timestamp for each round of metrics collection. AFAIK this is the standard way we track times with metrics, not by adding another timestamp metric. For example, to figure out when the volume scanner last ran, you would look at the time of the last `numScans` increment according to Prometheus or your Grafana dashboard on top of that. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
