I was chatting with [~dsmiley] and I mentioned that in the Rails world we have
this wonderful development.yml, test.yml, and production.yml files that are
shipped with the project. They have all the "sane" defaults for each of
those, and provide an easy place for you to start customizing all your
settings. We could do that as well.. bin/solr start just takes in this
environment name, and then we do all our vairous look ups from there.
Play framework has examples where you can override specific properties as
environment variables etc that would let us define thinks ont he command line
to override what is in the config file if that was a preference...
