Sean Owen commented on SPARK-17445:
-----------------------------------
See
https://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/spark-user/201412.mbox/%3CCABPQxstuYDX=savqamkhcvfu4fs0skkop_semcjm05rgprq...@mail.gmail.com%3E
for example.
I don't believe there's anything flatly wrong with this site, something that
would be against policy. When you say 'not OK' is that your preference or a
reference to a policy?
Of course, policy is itself a bit of a gray area and the standard of behavior
is not "not violating policy". So some additional steps to keep this away from
boundaries seems prudent.
Bringing it back to concrete changes and the topic of this JIRA, I think we
could add to my points above:
- Link to this wiki from the main Spark site to introduce another 'hop' and
opportunity to disclaim the nature of the third-party site, on that wiki page.
> Reference an ASF page as the main place to find third-party packages

> say to go to spark-packages.org, but since this is a package index
> maintained by a third party, it would be better to reference an ASF page that
> we can keep updated and own the URL for.
